God made the earth and God made me!

Waylon got this bible a couple years ago for his baby dedication.

We have always read from it but this past week I got some motivation.  I started thinking about all the time I spend and have spent making sure Waylon knows his numbers, letters, colors, animals and so on.  Way and I do crafts multiple times a week (most of which I try to make not only fun, but educational) and I decided that I need to get back to what is the most important and make sure Mini knows as much about GOD that I can share.  His bible has it separated into smaller sections and only certain stories.  I thought this would be a good place to start.  So I hit up pinterest, God some ideas, twisted some others and created a Sunday morning bible lesson from Genesis 1.  Main theme in Waylon words.....

GOD MADE THE EARTH AND GOD MADE ME.
I actually had to show Mini what the earth looks like before we got started too!
So, we started by praying to God and asking him to open our hearts to His Word.  Then we read the first story in his Bible once again.

Next, we headed to this website and listened to this song.
We made up a few hand motions and sang along on more time!

Next, Way and I got Baking!  We made earth cupcakes from vanilla cake.

Created the batter as normal (it's a box cake...I am tired!) then split it in two.  Dying one blue and one green. (Yes, I did drop my phone into the blue batter while taking this picture!!  AHHH)

Then we layered it into the muffin holders.

(wait....only on top of the golden oreos!  I thought for a long time about how I could justify these additional unneeded calories and came up with this!)

The foolish man builds his house upon the sand but the wise man builds his house (cupcake) on the rock (cookie)?!?  It's a stretch!!!  Here's the link to a song and video we enjoyed and danced and sang along to!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDhaAWHjVRM
Oh and here is our adorable supervisor!!

Anyway, then as we cooked our cupcakes (oops...is this not an appropriate breakfast!!)  we created an earth!  PINTEREST!

I took a blue circle piece of paper and had Mini but two hand prints in green paint to create a globe effect.  Then after it dried we added God made the Earth and God Made Me!  Genesis 1:1.

We finished up by frosting our cupcakes...adding some star sprinkles (of course, God made those too) and thanking the Lord for all He made but especially our family!!!

OH MY DEER....DERRICK IS 30!

So this super cool, bleached blond, older Junior guy stole my heart when he was only 16.
But a lot has changed since the end of 1998!
And now....my fabulous hubby,

and the father of our perfect and precious sons
is turning 30 years old tomorrow!

It seriously blows me away that he is already 30?!?!  Where has the time gone?  How did he get so old?  (notice how I haven't turned a day over 22?!?!)  It amazes me that the boy who kissed me for the first time on my parent's porch after Justin Thompson's Christmas party....is NOW not only 30, but the most amazing MAN, HUSBAND, and FATHER the world has ever known.
I spent a little time the other day looking at some of our most favorite memories that we have shared
Dodger games

a whole bunch of Niner games,

PREGNANCIES

vacations and kisses

graduations

more kisses
the birth of Waylon

the birth of Wesson

honeymooning in St. Lucia

date nights

trips to the lake

nights out

and now nights at home with our babies

holidays

swimming

playing

day trips

weddings

and MORE kisses!

You see, I can't even imagine a life without my hubby in it.  All the memories, the big ones, the small ones, the good ones, the bad ones, the exciting ones, the scary ones, the sad ones, and the funny ones all have shaped US into who we are!  We are now "the PearceS", Mama and Dada, Noodle and Hub-A-Lub.

Life is scary in that we NEVER know what is right around the corner.  BUT I DO KNOW....that no matter what we will face in the future, the good and the bad....Derrick and I will do it together!  I look forward to lifetime with you Hubby!  YOU WERE MY FIRST LOVE AND MY LAST!  143!

HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY WISHES TO THE MAN WHO DESERVES IT ALL!  I AM SO BLESSED AND LUCKY THAT GOD BROUGHT YOU INTO THIS WORLD 30 YEARS AGO AND THAT HE MADE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

YOU, DLP...ARE OUR HERO!

Suck it up PRINCESS

With an exciting weekend and a brillant week celebrating my hubby come up.....I started feeling...overwhelmed.  This week seems to have been full of misunderstandings, a million more errands to run than normal, things falling through, EXHAUSTION, complications, change, the "what ifs" happening, and feeling the need of atleast 3 of me to get the necessities done.  Wesson even ate dinner at a restaurant with not only NO shoes on BUT NO SHIRT TOO!  If you know me...you know this means I am totally having an off week.

But as I sat feeling so very sorry for myself, one specific picture from the other night popped in my head

You see...nap and bedtime have been CRAZY at our house since a couple weeks before Wesson was born.  And even if everything else this week was chaos....this moment was PERFECT!  Both my boys are asleep, together, and even holding hands!  It made me realize with all the mistakes I am making...I'm doing something right.  First off, my boys are my world.  I'm sure I push them too hard in one area when I should be focusing more on another!  I'm not perfect BUT...one thing my boys will ALWAYS know, is that Mama loves them.  And in this picture, I know that my boys are quickly creating a bond that I hope will carry them through the rough times and the happiest times in their life. And since my boys are my strength and my drive...I then thought of this

So that's what I am doing!  Snuggling with my Bug, reading with my Mini, then grabbing a drink with my girlfriends!  A little reboot so that I can TOTALLY focus on these moments....
playing at the park,

hearing the PRECIOUS laughter of my precious boys,

and witnessing and feeling and being overwhelmed in a positive way, of the endless and deep love the Pearce family shares.  The moments I have always dreamed of and get to experiance on a daily basis!

So tomorrow and all my worries (AND THERE ARE A TON)...off to God you go!  I'm letting him handle it!  I'm too busy...I've got diapers to changes, babies to feed, books to read, blocks to build with and monster trucks to race! :)

T is for TRAIN...ALL ABOARD

So this week we were all about TRAINS TRAINS TRAINS at our house!  A thing my Mini adores anyway!  I incorporated trains into every craft we did this week and a few of our activities!  So...here is how it went...
We watched Chuggington!  Ok...just kidding and that was only by coincidence because it was on after Doc Mcstuffins!   Anywho, last Sunday, Derrick and I took the boys for a drive and up to the Sugar Pine Railroad to ride the steam train!  Not only was it a blast and so relaxing, but it gave us the opportunity to shoe Mini a train in person!  We watched the steam and had a wonderful time exploring on our stop too!

The I hit pinterest up and took some of their ideas and used my old elementary school teacher brain and we started crafting.  We talked about how train starts with "T" and how there is a upper case T and a lower case t!  Then we created stained glass T's.  Waylon already knows his upper case letter but the lower case are really confusing him!  So...we are going to have to work on this!
Then we did an easy craft for a busy day and simply painted a wooden train that I picked up at JOANNS!  Mini LOVES to paint!

Then we made a Choo Choo Train out of the letters in Waylon's name.  I just put the letters on cards and threw them on the floor and had Mini put them in the correct order for him name.  Then we talked about the pattern and what color would come next.  Then we glued it all together...including those googly eyes!
We also did another T is for Train activity by gluing and coloring a train on a train track!

Finally, we played trains

and read books about trains.
We even just made this snack before nap.  We talked about shapes and colors too!

Oh yes...check out that HAIR!!

And after nap today, we are going to color, cut and glue together this train I got off the internet

Train week was super fun!  Now...what to do next week?!?!?
ALL ABOARD!!!
